Sula Vineyard, Nashik

Sula Vineyards is at the forefront of the Indian Wine revolution. Sula’s award-winning Indian Wines are available in the best hotels & restaurants worldwide.
Sula Vineyards winery is located on the outskirts of Nasik, around four hours northeast of Mumbai, in the state of Maharastra. For wine lovers, Sula Vineyards makes an enjoyable side trip from Mumbai. It's easily reached by frequent Indian Railways train services, buses, or even by taxi.
The winery is set on a 35 acre vineyard. For the amount of wine that Sula produces, the property wasn't as large as I expected it to be. However, that's because Sula has an additional few hundred acres of vineyards spread elsewhere in the region. Sula has couple of restaurants in the premise, they serve excellent, we found the prices to be on a higher side.
Paid tour of the vineyard is available, which costs around Rs. 150 per person. The tour includes continuous commentary by the guide explaining about wine and how Sula came into existence. The wine ends with wine testing, where tourists are given taste of 406 different wines along with instructions on how to enjoy the wine.

Wine barrels

The wine is fermented in these barrels for months which gives wine the taste it has. We were told that Sula imports these barrels from California and they are made of special wood which gives taste to the wine.
