Sant sushtri at Hadshi Temple – Pandurang Kshetra, Sathya Sai Trust

Sant Sushtri is statue museum located next to Hadshi Temple. The place was recently inaugurated hence relatively unknown. The statue museum shows all saints in India along with some of the god statues, particularly in Maharashtra. These are not simply statues of saints but these are proper sets showing their stories and guide accompanies the visitors to tell them story of individual saint. The museum contains around 500 statues in total and takes approx 45 to 60 min for complete tour, entire place is created in cave fashion and visitors get a feel of going through cave while visiting different attractions. Photography is allowed in only few places hence the below pictures are 5% of what this place has to offer.  Entry fees for adults is Rs.100/- which I think is totally reasonable considering the efforts put in creation and maintenance of this place. Overall must visit for all puneites who keep looking for weekend gateway options.

Many ancient buildings are intact. All in all visit to Kolhapur was worth it. Excellent Kolhapuri mutton and pleasure of visiting Panhala.

Statue of Baji Prabhu Deshpande at the entrance. If you haven't read the history about Panhala and Baji Prabhu Deshpande, this is a good time to read. Stories of Baji Prabhu Deshpande inspire every school kid in Maharashtra!
