Tamhini Ghat - Delight in rainy season

Hi Guys

These are the snaps from Tamhini ghat, we went via Tamhini ghat for Rafting this rainy season those are the snaps taken during journey.

Beautiful waterfalls at Tamhini…. Unfortunately the life of these are very short just during good rains…. They immediately dry up when rain stops

Rafts… don’t forget to enjoy rafting on Kundalika river just a few km from Tamhihni…

Murud-Janjira - Kashid beach

Hey Guys this post is about Murud Janjira trip

Murud is located around 200 KM from Pune, a great place for weekend picnic. By car it takes around 4.5 hours and roads are in good condition. Head to Bombay from Pune from express highway or the old highway, take Khopoli exit and then there is a left turn going towards Alibag, just before Alibag take right turn to reach Murud and the Kashid beach.

Directions:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=pune&daddr=Alibag,+Raigad,+Maharashtra,+India&hl=en&geocode=%3BFQOpHAEdUOBXBA&mra=ls&sll=18.66043,73.362925&sspn=0.787156,1.455688&ie=UTF8&z=10&pw=2

You will reach Kashib beach and find a fort over there... wait thats not Murud-Jinjira. That is another fort constructed by Sambhaji Maharaj... more 4 km and you will reach Murud-Jinjira the undefeated fort. The fort was build by Siddhi Johar who came from Africa.

The name Jaijira comes from arebic word zazira. They have boat service which takes you to the Fort. The boat would charge you Rs.15 and Rs. 20 for the guide more 20 bucks.

Entrance to the fort

This cannon is called Kadakbangdi - it makes sound like bengals when fired

Cannons made of Panch dhatu is a mixture of five metals: copper, gold, lead, silver and iron.[1]. With 40 degree temperature around the cannons were still not hot……. the temperature was less then human body temperature!!!
